Southwest Airlines has announced updates to its Rapid Rewards® program, including the addition of a third tier. Beginning January 1st, 2027, the program will feature three tiers:
- Silver (Previously A-List)
- Reach status with 35,000 Tier Qualifying Points (TQPs) or 25 qualifying flights
- No additional cost for Preferred or Standard seats at booking, when available
- Board in Group 1
- One free checked bag
- Earn a 40% bonus on qualifying flights
- Gold (Previously A-List Preferred)
- Reach status with 65,000 TQPs or 50 qualifying flights
- Free seat selection for any seat at booking, when available
- Board before Group 1
- Two free checked bags
- Earn a 60% bonus on qualifying flights
- Platinum (New)
- Reach status with 140,000 TQPs or 100 qualifying flights
- Unlimited Companion Pass trips
- Free seat selection for any seat at booking, when available
- Board before Gold Members and Group 1
- Three free checked bags
- Earn a 120% bonus on qualifying flights
Southwest is also introducing Milestone Rewards, offering benefits such as bonus points, Preferred seat certificates, and Companion Pass trips when travelers reach specific TQP or qualifying flight milestones.
