United Airlines announced it’s launching a new fare type, “Base”. This new fare will be available “for United Polaris® and United Premium Plus® customers traveling on long-haul international, transcontinental U.S. and select Hawaii flights”.
United Polaris and United Premium Plus currently offer a Standard and Flexible fare. The new Base fare will include:
- Seat selection (for a fee)
- One checked bag
- One carry-on bag
- Access to the United Club (United Polaris only)
The Base fare will not permit flight changes, upgrades, or refunds.
United plans to launch the new fare in select markets in April, with expansion to additional flights expected later in 2026.
