European Union Entry/Exit System Fully Implements April 10th

The European Union launched its Entry/Exit System (EES) on October 12, 2025. The system has been gradually deployed across external border crossings within the Schengen Area. This phased implementation will continue through April 9, 2026.

Beginning April 10, 2026, the EES will be fully operational at all external border crossing points of the European countries.

Travelers should allow additional time at border crossings due to potentially longer wait times associated with biometric screening, including facial image capture and fingerprint scans.
